December 2025

Festive Crafting

Our December meeting put us all into the Christmas spirit with a really enjoyable crafting evening led by Sue and Tina. Members arrived with armfuls of greenery as requested and settled at their tables. Each table was piled high with everything from holly and conifer to pittosporum and bay. Sue provided each member with a shallow dish prepared for a table decoration with a candle at it’s centre. Having made the hole for the candle everyone set to filling their arrangement with different colours and texture and adding extra trimmings from a huge basket that Sue had provided. This included artificial berries, fir cones, ribbons and bells etc. It was fun to chat with friends while creating something and it was lovely to see what a variety of designs people came up with. Sue also helped members decorate their candles with festive trompe l’oeil using paper napkins and teaspoons heated on a candle.

As everyone finished up, the committee served hot mulled wine and mince pies. A great way to mark Christmas with our friends and to say goodbye to 2025!
