Tissue Paper Flowers

We welcomed April with a wonderful workshop to make tissue paper flowers led by Andrea Griffiths. With a great turn out for our ever popular crafty evenings the tables were set with pipe cleaners, soon to become flower stalks! Andrea introduced herself and then demonstrated a fairly straightforward but clever technique for us all to try with a choice of colours. Clutching six sheets of coloured tissue we returned to our places and after some concertina folding and careful separation of petals we all produced a carnation in no time! We went on to create poppies, sunflowers, daisies and peonies, each demonstrated by Andrea before we had a go ourselves. There was the usual buzz of chatter and laughter as we worked and everyone ended up with a very pleasing bunch of huge, colourful flowers to take home. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone!
